We were contracted to project manage and complete the total redevelopment of an existing 3 bedroom house in desperate need of updating. The building was in a terrible state of disrepair which provided an exciting opportunity to create a modern, bespoke home to our client’s exacting standards and personal style.
Overall, our client wanted to achieve a modern, unique look with a quality, lasting finish incorporating their keen interest in technology.
Working in collaboration with our client’s architect, we refined the original plans for the build to suit the site and continually adapted the requirements as the project progressed. Every detail of the build and specifications were considered to ensure a luxury feel combined with quality workmanship.
The original compact 3 bedroom house was transformed during this extensive project to a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom family home which doubled the living space for the owners.
Our experienced joiners handcrafted the new staircase onsite, adapting the design and construction in response to amends evolving elsewhere in the plans. The stunning construction is comprised of a large amount of supporting steel work, giving the impression of a floating, freestanding structure and features beautiful oak handrails.
Further complex steelwork was required to achieve the architect’s vision of moving the chimney for the log burner in the lounge to sit outside the building, to maximise on living space.
Throughout the property, we sourced and installed tailor made VELFAC windows – high spec, bespoke composite windows combining the durability of aluminium with the beauty and warmth of natural wood, which complement the modern style of the house.
By managing the entire project, we were able to ensure the client’s desired style ran through the property, such as sourcing and laying oak flooring and fitting bespoke oak cladding at the entrance of the property to match the imposing solid oak door.
An important style feature of the architect’s plans we worked hard to achieve was a short overhang of the roof. We worked together to ensure the vision was achieved but was also a practical solution, protecting the house from the elements. Externally, we sourced and installed bespoke guttering to add a luxury, tailored finish.
The property is a fantastic example of combining timeless craftmanship with the latest technical innovations in home automation. We installed many systems that enabled our client to control features around their home using their iPhones, such as lighting controls.
The kitchen was designed and installed to reflect the continuing theme throughout the property, combining traditional style units with high end modern appliances such as a walk-in Sub Zero fridge-freezer, the choice of many professional chefs and leading designers.
Wardrobes and other cabinetry were made on site by our skilled joiners, working to the client brief and delivering exceptional results.
